about

I did this song as a one-off parody, inspired by lyrics generated between myself and other members of the Tidewater Browncoats on their Facebook page. It took about two and a half hours from the inception to the finished product, including learning how to play the song.

Enjoy!

lyrics

Nothing to do at home, nothing on TV,
I feel it in the air, the 'verse is out of reach
TV Guide, TV News, & rerun TV shows...
I'm flippin' straight past FOX, cause I know you're not home

But I can see you
Your brown coat flappin' in the sun
You got your hair combed back and Winchester gun, baby...
And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the God Of Thunder has gone...

I never will forget those nights, I wonder if it was a dream
Remember when Wash died? Remember how it made us scream.
Simon, Kaylee, River, Book, Zoe, Wash and Jayne,
Captain Mal and Inara are in my heart and brain and...

I can see you
Your brown coat flappin' in the sun
I see you flyin' real fast, and your wife's shootin' everyone
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the Shield TV series is gone

Out on the road today, I saw a Browncoat sticker on a Prius Hatch Back
A little voice Inside my head said, "It might come back. Joss could bring it back."
I thought I knew who Book was. What did I know?
Those days are gone forever, I should just let them go but

I can see you
Your brown coat shinin' in the sun
You got a layer cake dress and tight pants pulled on, baby
And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the the Next FOX Blunder has gone

I can see you
Your brown coat shinin' in the sun
You got an orange knit cap and Vera strapped on baby
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the God of Thunder is gone...
